  As the temperatures drop and the leaves begin to turn, I find myself savoring the slower rhythm and beauty of Fall.
Each season brings its own favorite spots, and mine definitely change throughout the year. I never tire of Gooseberry Island - it's beautiful in every season. I love watching for seals, and maybe this winter I'll finally spot a Snowy Owl!
Here are a few of my seasonal favorites:
~ Summer: Cherry & Webb Beach and the Healthy Trail at Horseneck Beach
~ Fall: Forge Pond's gorgeous colors and the fun events at Buzzards Bay Brewing
~ Winter: My fireplace (of course!) - plus the view of Devol Pond from my window and the annual Tree Lighting at Westport Woods is Special.
~ Spring: The Daffodil Fields in Dartmouth - an absolute must-see

Look to the North Most of the time they can't be seen with the Naked eye Last night they were seen around 9:00
To photograph the northern lights with an iPhone, use a tripod for stability,
Open the native Camera app, and enable Night Mode.
Adjust the exposure to the maximum time (e.g., 10 seconds) and turn the flash off.

BEWARE OF DEER RUNNING INTO THE ROAD - As November temperatures dip and frost starts to appear on the pumpkins, more and more deer are beginning to move. Depending on where you live, you may notice a significant increase in deer activity, especially in rural or wooded parts of the SouthCoast.
Why So Many Deer Are on the Move Across the SouthCoast
The reason is simple: we've entered the rut season. During the rut, male deer become bolder in their quest to find a mate. They take more risks, wander into populated areas, and cross roadways more frequently - all in pursuit of a female deer. Someone just hit a deer on Old Harbor Rd, The female Doe ran across the road while he was watching her cross he hit the Male Buck running after her.
